ADEC Innovations CEO James Donovan is UN Economic Commission for Europe Business Advisory Board member of the International PPP Centre of Excellence.

Makati City, Philippines. August 10, 2015— The United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and ADEC Innovations Foundation signed a Joint Statement of Cooperation last August 7. The cooperation will work towards the advancement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which will be launched at the SDG Summit in September 2015.

SDGs, are one of the main outcomes from the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio 20+) in 2012, which will be the new set goals, targets and indicators that UN member states are expected to use in the formation of their agendas and political policies for the next 15 years succeeding the Millennium Development Goals that was established 15 years ago at the Millennium Summit.

As a key shift from MDGs, SDGs will strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership that includes governments, private sector, civil society and international organization for sustainable development through public-private partnerships (PPP). The Foundation aims to improve the world’s quality of health through PPP, driven by its mission to enable the development and successful implementation of PPP projects in health through research, policy, capacity building, and collaboration.

The signing ceremony on Aug 7 at Manila Polo Club in Makati City between ADEC Innovations Foundations and UNECE, represented by Foundation Chairman James Donovan and Chief of UNECE’s Cooperation and Partnership Section Geoffrey Hamilton was followed by a roundtable discussion on developing standards in global healthcare policy at Makati Shangri-la Hotel on August 10.

Aside from Hamilton and Donovan, the speakers included Dr. Enrique Ona, Former Philippine Secretary of Health; Atty. Alberto C. Agra, a Certified Public-Private Partnership Specialist; Dr. Hilton Y. Lam, Director of the Institute of Health Policy and Development; Dr. Teodoro Herbosa, Faculty Member of the UP Manila College of Medicine, and Architect and Urban Planner Felino “Jun” Palafox, Jr., among others.
